We are glad to present you the announce of the new 3D shooter from Qplaze - Heroes of War: Sand Storm. Wars are never forgotten. They leave scars on the earth and in human memory - scars that are impossible to erase. Sooner or later they show through - through the frightful findings in the ruins of the ancient cities, dusty folders in the archives, nightmares of the whole generations. In retrospect we see: the whole history of mankind is a history of wars. Spears changes into missiles, and swords into automatic rifles, but over a period of thousands of years the main remained the same - the essence of the war. War doesn't let to look back.

Hyderabad-based gaming company, 7Seas, has launched 7 3D mobile games across genres across the globe.
The seven games include "3D Sudoku" and "Planets of Sudoku 3D" (puzzle genre), "Neetu The Alien Killer" and "Great Elude" (action), "Treasure Trove" (adventure), and "Derby3D" and "Kraze" (racing) titles.
"Derby3D" and "Kraze" come as both single- and multi- player. "Great Elude", "Planets of Sudoku 3D", and "Derby3D" are multi-lingual and come in English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, and German.
Of the seven 3D games launched, "Neetu The Alien Killer" sounds most interesting partly because of the disconnect between such a common-sounding name and the fact that lady in question is described as an 'Alien Killer'. Actually, Neetu has much to do with Bollywood actor Neetu Chandra who plays the protagonist. The story revolves around Neetu's adventures as she slays the various aliens trying to eliminate the human race.

Fishlabs, a developer of premium 3D mobile games, is now delivering its mobile games to end users from now on via email; eliminating the high data transfer costs often charged for downloads by mobile operators.
Fishlabs is the first vendor worldwide to offer hassle and cost free delivery of mobile games to its customers.
Before, depending on the type of mobile data-plan, charges for downloading a mobile game via mobile network can exceed the price of the game itself.
In the opinion of experts at this year's Games Developer Conference Mobile in San Francisco, these high and hidden data transfer charges are one of the main reasons for the slow growth of the mobile gaming market in 2007.

Zeemote has shown a wireless remote control for playing games on mobile phones
You might think the last thing you'd need to play games on your mobile phone would be a wireless remote control, but Zeemote's JS1 is just that.
The Bluetooth device has four buttons and a thumb-operated analog joystick, and can be held in the left or right hand, leaving the other hand free to hold the phone.
The control measures 3.8 inches by 1.4 inches by 0.8 inches, and is less fiddly to operate than the small buttons on phones, said Jim Adams, Zeemote's vice president of sales and business development. Separating the control from the phone also makes it easier to hold the display steady while playing action games, he said at a press event on the eve of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where Zeemote will be showing the device.

We are long time admirers of the Fishlabs mobile games studio and its 3D wizardry so evident in fantastic games such as Deep, Galaxy on Fire and Blades & Magic. It seems we are not the only ones, either, as the studio has just been recognised in its native Germany by snaffling a gong at the German Developer Awards 2007 in the 'Best Mobile Game' category. The title that did the studio proud was the aforementioned Blades & Magic, which we ourselves are more than a little partial to.

Electronic Arts' mobile games will soon offer a 3D performance equivalent to traditional portable gaming consoles.
Broadcom and Electronic Arts recently signed an agreement to enable popular EA Mobile game titles on mobile phones powered by Broadcom solutions. The game titles will be optimized for the latest generation VideoCore III mobile multimedia processor from Broadcom, which supports HD content and graphics performance equivalent to today's dedicated handheld game consoles.
"Low power 3D hardware graphics acceleration will allow developers to create games for convergent mobile devices that can compete with or surpass games for dedicated handheld gaming devices. True high-resolution 3D graphics will entice consumers to download and play more mobile games," says gaming analyst Billy Pidgeon at IDC.

Our mobile phones will be slimmer, 3G-enabled and sporting 3D fascias. That's if your expectations are based on handsets now available in Japan, where NEC has just unveiled the world’s slimmest clamshell handset for the W-CDMA network that features a stereoscopic fascia.
The rectangular N704iμ handset, which has just gone on sale in Japan over the NTT DoCoMo network, measures 10 x 5 x 1cm and weighs about 90g. It also has a maximum continuous stand-by time of around 690 hours, a continuous talk time of around 200 minutes and continuous video calling time of around 135 minutes.
The phone is also equipped with an LCD screen that provides a resolution of 240 x 345 pixels.

Superscape On Making 3D-Accelerated Mobile Games

Game development has always been driven by the desire to squeeze the most performance out of any given piece of hardware. And despite their seemingly lowly state, this is still the case with mobile phones. The fact that PSP graphics-class phones will be launched soon, while DS graphics-equivalent phones are already in the market, means there's actually plenty of horsepower to play around with.
But as David Britten, vice president of technology at mobile developer/publisher Superscape, pointed out in his case study of the company's development of a 3D-accelerated version of its Ducati 3D Extreme game, the consistency of hardware remains a problem. Some devices still don't support OpenGL ES, while other cause problems because hardware manufacturers don't always ship product with standardized firmware.
