We are long time admirers of the Fishlabs mobile games studio and its 3D wizardry so evident in fantastic games such as Deep, Galaxy on Fire and Blades & Magic.

It seems we are not the only ones, either, as the studio has just been recognised in its native Germany by snaffling a gong at the German Developer Awards 2007 in the 'Best Mobile Game' category. The title that did the studio proud was the aforementioned Blades & Magic, which we ourselves are more than a little partial to.

We would hate to pander to the notion that all mobile games need to move towards 3D in order to justify the progression of the platform, but at the same time we wouldn't mind if there were more developers with the same consistently impressive output as mobile 3D specialist Fishlabs.

So, a very successful 2007 for the company, let's hope that a sequel for Galaxy on Fire is next on the agenda.
