Vivendi Games Mobile, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced the North American launch of Urban Attack(TM: 103.37, -1.04, -0.99%), the long-awaited, original and inventive first-person-shooter (FPS) mobile game. Urban Attack for mobile, which was recently released throughout Europe, has already received a number of impressive review scores and previews from press and fans around the world.

The Urban Attack game for mobile, in development for more than twenty months, is the result of considerable research and development involving advanced 3D vectorial graphics and is designed to deliver 3D shooting action across more than 400 handsets, from mid-range 2D devices to smartphones. Urban Attack takes the shooting genre to an entirely new level with a number of features never before seen on mobile phones.

"Urban Attack for mobile has received numerous awards and accolades from fans and press in Europe - including being named one of the Top 10 Games of 2007 by the mobile gaming Web site Pocketgamer - and we are very excited to launch this highly anticipated mobile game in North America," said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. "Urban Attack truly represents an evolution in the action genre on mobile phones and we are sure fans of action games will agree that this game is like no other FPS on mobile."

The title features an extremely varied and deep plot-driven storyline including 60 different shooting phases, 100 character animations, three unique shooting modes and five weapons options. There are 14 different enemy behaviors, ten side-quests and four unique environments including an underwater adventure. The game also features a revolutionary grid/keypad targeting system designed for optimum phone-specific ergonomics and a real- time sniping mode. The kinematics, enabled by state-of-the-art 3D rendering, produces a unique and fluid wire-frame appearance that reinforces the near- future storyline.

The Urban Attack mobile game is set in 2046, in the years following the third war in the Ukraine. A highly organized Russian Mafia is now in control of the Russian government. The main character, Yuri, is a 17-year-old agent in the UCCK network of technology and psy-ops experts set up by the Russian Mafia to operate covertly in the United States. The reason for the creation of the UCCK is unknown as are the details of Yuri's past. Yuri speaks with a perfect New England accent; has a phenomenal aptitude for understanding sophisticated weaponry and knows that any attempt to discover the truth will be a very dangerous pursuit.

Urban Attack for mobile has received excellent reviews from the games press around the world including a Gold Award and an exceptional 9/10 score from Pocket Gamer; a 92% rating and an Excellence-Next Award from Projectnext.eu; 9/10 and a Mobile Game Award from Midlet-Review; a 9/10 from GameConnect Magazine; and an 85% rating from MobileGamesFAQs.com
