Fishing Kings by Gameloft is one of the finest fishing apps you can have on your mobile phone. It employs everything in your smartphone tackle box - vibration, tilt and touch - to provide as realistic a simulation as you’ll ever find. This is due in large part to a gorgeous underwater camera that takes you right into the water as you search for holes, work your lure and fight your fish. It makes couch fishing fun.

The graphics are great weather you’re casting from your boat with a nice back and forth tilt of your phone or fighting a whooper. As you pull back to set the hook, a tension gauge comes onto the screen. If your fish goes left or right, you tilt to keep your line from breaking while reeling in with the reel icon. I can’t imagine a better fishing mechanic that mimics the skill and challenge of fishing.

The underwater environments are realistic with a large variety of logs, rocks and plants to hold your interest and the physics and movement of the fish and your lure are as good as it gets.

Beyond that you can purchase different lures, rods, lines and reels with your winnings as you compete in tournaments around the world. While it would be nice to see the fish jump, Fishing Kings is still a terrific game that even non-enthusiasts can enjoy without getting seasick.
